The program takes place in an integrated and performed at the Leonel Brizola Campus of UENF, located in Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro (RJ), and the Boa Vista Campus of UVV, in Vila Velha, Esp\u00edrito Santo (ES).<p>Recommended by CAPES on December 11, 2015, the PPGBV was approved in the Biotechnology evaluation area with a grade of 4, offering Master\u2019s and Doctorate programs. The first cohort began in November 2016, and since then, the program has established itself as a reference in the field. The first Master\u2019s defenses occurred in 2018, and the first Doctoral defenses took place in 2020.\n            <br>\n            <p>Since its inception, the complementary collaboration between UENF and UVV has generated significant results, fostering a synergistic environment that integrates education, research, and innovation. This strategic partnership was crucial to the performance achieved in the first four-year evaluation by CAPES, in which the PPGBV received a grade of 5 (from 4 to 7). This advancement acknowledges the excellence and impact of the program in the field of plant biotechnology, positioning it at the forefront of academic and scientific development.<\/br>\n            <\/p>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"apresentacao1\" class=\"section-padding\">\n    <div class=\"row\">\n      <div class=\"col-md-6 col-sm-6\" style=\"margin-top: 20px\">\n        <h3 class=\"ser-title white\">Objective<\/h3>\n        <hr class=\"botm-line3 white\" style=\"margin-top: 10px\">\n        <div style=\"color:#d3d3d3;text-align:justify;text-indent: 50px;\">\n          <p>The program aims to train qualified human resources (Masters and PhDs) in a cutting-edge field of innovation, Plant Biotechnology. Professionals will acquire knowledge in biodiversity characterization, with emphasis on the prospecting of genes, proteins, and secondary metabolites, as well as a detailed investigation of biological processes, including techniques in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and bioinformatics. Additionally, they will gain experience in technologies such as micropropagation, genetic engineering, and synthetic biology, resulting in the generation of relevant products for agriculture, industry, medicine, and the environment.\n            <br>\n            <p>Graduates of the program will have a differential education in Entrepreneurship and Biotechnology Project Management, combined with Technological Innovation and Intellectual Property, equipping them with the skills needed to develop biotechnological products and processes and successfully enter the market.<\/br>\n            <\/p>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class=\"col-md-6 col-sm-6\" style=\"margin-top: 20px\">\n        <h3 class=\"ser-title white\">Target Students<\/h3>\n        <hr class=\"botm-line3\" style=\"margin-top: 10px\">\n        <div style=\"color:#d3d3d3;text-align:justify;text-indent: 50px;\">\n          <p>For the Master\u2019s program, the target students include graduates in Biological Sciences, Agronomy, Forestry Engineering, and related fields. For the Doctorate, our target students include individuals with a Master\u2019s degree from CAPES-recommended Graduate Programs, whose profile aligns with the program.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class=\"col-md-6 col-sm-6\" style=\"margin-top: 20px\">\n        <h3 class=\"ser-title white\">Scientific Cooperation<\/h3>\n        <hr class=\"botm-line3\" style=\"margin-top: 10px\">\n        <div style=\"color:#d3d3d3;text-align:justify;text-indent: 50px;\">\n          <p>Institutional exchange is one of the program's strengths. Besides the association between UENF and UVV, faculty members maintain collaborations with researchers from various national and international institutions, such as: UNICAMP, EMBRAPA, UFRJ, USP, UFV, UFSC, Tokyo University (Japan); The James Hutton Institute (Scotland); Texas A&amp;M University (USA); University of Missouri (USA).  <\/p>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section id=\"pesquisa\" class=\"section-padding\">\n    <div class=\"row\">\n      <div class=\"col-md-12 col-sm-12\" style=\"margin-top: 20px\">\n        <h3 class=\"ser-title\">Research Lines<\/h3>\n        <hr class=\"botm-line\" style=\"margin-top: 10px\">\n      <\/div>\n      <div class=\"col-md-12 col-sm-12\">\n        <h3><b>- Integrative Biology: Genomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics, and Bioinformatics<\/b><\/h3>\n        <div style=\"text-align:justify;text-indent: 50px;\">\n          <p>Studies biological processes in a detailed and integrative manner, correlating genetic, biochemical, metabolic, and physiological parameters in plants and associated microorganisms. Large-scale data generation through genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic approaches, combined with bioinformatics integration, enables not only effective biodiversity characterization but also the prospecting of new genes, peptides, and secondary metabolites of biotechnological interest.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class=\"col-md-12 col-sm-12\">\n        <h3 ><b>- Characterization of Plant Biodiversity and Bioprospecting of Bioactive Compounds<\/b><\/h3>\n        <div style=\"text-align:justify;text-indent: 50px;\">\n          <p>Encompasses the study and characterization of plant biodiversity, including genetic diversity analysis, taxonomy, morpho-anatomical characterization, phytochemistry, and bioprospecting of new molecules. Together, these approaches aim to identify, select, develop, and standardize products derived from plant biodiversity with potential industrial or pharmaceutical applications.<\/p>\n        <\/div>\n      <\/div>\n      <div class=\"col-md-12 col-sm-12\">\n        <h3><b>- Biotechnology Applied to Agriculture and the Environment<\/b><\/h3>\n        <div style=\"text-align:justify;text-indent: 50px;\">\n          <p>Focuses on applying biotechnology as a tool to increase agricultural productivity with minimal environmental impact and produce valuable products and services for society and the productive sector.
